-----------------------
Raylib is a simple and easy-to-use library for video games programming.
This is the AROS x86_64 port of raylib 6.0 (static library, libraylib.a).
Package layout
--------------
lib/libraylib.a - static raylib 6.0 library for AROS x86_64
include/raylib.h - public API header (raylib 6.0)
include/raudio.h - standalone audio header (legacy, optional)
basic_window - prebuilt example binary
example_games/ - prebuilt classic games (arkanoid, asteroids,
asteroids_survival, floppy, gold_fever, gorilas,
missile_commander, pang, platformer, snake,
space_invaders, tetris)
raylib.ico - raylib icon
license - zlib/libpng license
What works on AROS
------------------
- Window, input and rendering through the AROS GLFW port (OpenGL ES 2.0 /
Mesa)
- Shapes, textures, text (default font + TTF/FNT), 3D models, shaders
- Audio through miniaudio using the AROS AHI backend
- Joypad support added (still needs testing)
- All raylib examples compile without any source changes
Anything needed for AROS
------------------------
1. Compiler
x86_64-aros-gcc (cross toolchain) or an on-target AROS gcc.
2. GLFW (required)
raylib links against the separate AROS GLFW port, libglfw3.a.
Build/install it first and make sure both the GLFW headers and
libglfw3.a are reachable (e.g. copy to Development/include and
Development/lib, or pass -I<glfw>/include -L<glfw>).
3. AHI (for sound)
Audio uses miniaudio's AHI backend. For audible output select a real
AHI driver in the AHI preferences (e.g. alsa.audio on hosted AROS, or
the native HDA/AC97 driver). If AHI falls back to void.audio the sound
stream still plays, but silently.
4. Stack size
Run "stack 200000" before launching a raylib program.
5. Mesa GL error spam (quiet the Shell window)
With Mesa on AROS you may see the Shell window fill up with repeated
lines like these every frame:
Mesa: User error: 0x501 in glVertexAttribPointerARB(idx)
Mesa: User error: 0x501 in glEnableVertexAttribArray(index)
These are harmless Mesa debug messages (NOT raylib errors) - the program
runs fine. To silence them, set these environment variables before
launching your program (for example in S/User-Startup):
SetEnv MESA_NO_ERROR 1
SetEnv MESA_DEBUG silent
Build flags
-----------
DEF="-DPLATFORM_DESKTOP -DPLATFORM_DESKTOP_GLFW -DGRAPHICS_API_OPENGL_ES2
-DUSE_EXTERNAL_GLFW -D_GNU_SOURCE"
Link line
---------
LIBS="-lraylib -lglfw3 -lGL -liffparse -llowlevel -lpthread -latomic -lm
-ldos -lexec -lgraphics -lintuition -lutility -lkeymap -lcybergraphics"
x86_64-aros-gcc app.c -o app -std=gnu99 -O1 -w $DEF -I<raylib>/include $LIBS
Example
-------
#include "raylib.h"
int main(void)
{
InitWindow(800, 450, "raylib [core] example - basic window");
while (!WindowShouldClose())
{
BeginDrawing();
ClearBackground(RAYWHITE);
DrawText("Congrats! You created your first window!", 190, 200,
20, LIGHTGRAY);
EndDrawing();
}
CloseWindow();
return 0;
}
Installing on AROS
------------------
Copy lib/ to your development lib/ folder.
Copy include/ to your development include/ folder.
Port notes
----------
- raudio is built as a normal raylib module (RAUDIO_STANDALONE is NOT
forced on AROS) so config.h applies and all audio formats are enabled
(WAV, OGG, MP3, FLAC, XM, MOD, QOA).
- config.h disables raylib's busy-wait loop on AROS so frame pacing uses
the accurate nanosleep() path instead of burning CPU.
- The port provides pthread_attr_setschedpolicy(), which AROS pthread.h
declares but no AROS library implements (miniaudio calls it).
- You don't have to link "-lraudio" - audio is part of libraylib.a.
Note
----
I tested and compiled GLFW & Raylib natively on AROS using intelGMA.
You can start coding and compiling with Raylib 6.0 or above.
