The archive includes Q1Launcher and 2 quake-sdl binaries: quake-sdl (Software
Rendering) and glquake-sdl (OpenGL Rendering).

To play, it is necessary to add the data files of the original Quake CD
(PAK0.PAK and PAK1.PAK) into the "ID1" folder.

Besides allowing you to choose whether to play via Software Rendering or OpenGL,
Q1Launcher also lets you select and launch mods and mission packs.

The port is solid, featuring automatic stack startup (NewStackSwap) which makes
it convenient to launch from both Q1Launcher and the Shell.

Audio and gameplay hold up even at low speed, because mixing takes place in the
SDL callback rather than in the game loop.

Software Rendering is recommended for those playing on Virtual Machines or
natively in VESA.
